Every day I try to come up with an idea to which to write. Some days it’s easy, and on other days it’s white noise.
If I get ideas during the day, I try to write them down quickly; otherwise, it’s gone into thin air. Some of those ideas, which seemed really good at the time, seemed not too good later on. So sometimes when I come up with ideas at the time just before writing, I often wonder if I would feel the same way if I read it tomorrow. So I don’t read my old stuff.
That’s why sometimes I wonder where do ideas come from. So when I came across a TEDx talk from my favourite YouTube engineer, Mark Rober titled “How to Come Up with Good Ideas“, I was very interested.
These were his main points.
- Be and Stay curious.
Always be learning and wondering. Never cease to be amazed by the world and asking questions. - Work hard. Test often.
Experiment to learn more. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. - Keep trying. Get lucky.
Trust the process; don’t give up. The harder the work, the luckier you get.
