I’ve been seeing a large number of people getting involved and pushing this ForEx Trading thing. I have a few acquaintances as well who’ve tried to pull me in. “Make money while you sleep,” they tell me.
Some of them do well enough, I suppose. They make their money selling ForEx courses. I don’t know how it’s structured; like Amway, maybe? I don’t know.
But I look at this and ask, “What is the value being provided here?” This is a job that’s all about wealth creation, trading in something that has no real intrinsic value. Even banks provide some sort of service, but ForEx trading?
Wealth creation is another thing. Yes, we could probably say that they are creating value for the investors, but given that they aren’t producing anything, don’t we see how things can end up wrong somewhere.
The birth of all these wealth creation businesses will lead to the end of us. We already have private equity firms involved in health care and schools in the US, leading to not so good outcomes. They’ll probably lead to the end of democracy and rise of corruption if we don’t watch ourselves.
These types of “services”, if you can call it that, is all about greed. It’s not about production. It’s not about creating something of value for society. It’s not about making the world a better place.
The unfortunate thing is that the world has been so skewed by such “services” that you can’t help but participate just to be average now.
These are the types of jobs that David Graeber talks about in his book, “Bullshit Jobs – A Theory“. The Goons – jobs that exist because others are doing it, but if they all disappeared today we’ll probably not notice them. Heck, we might be even better off.
We need to consider a reset switch somewhere for our society that would somehow correct things and make it more equitable. And then perhaps people could start feeling valuable or at least valued.
