What a year 2020 is shaping up to be, and we’re not even half-way done.
“May you live in interesting times” is an old English saying that is actually a curse said ironically, since living in boring, “uninteresting times” is a far better state to be.
With 2019 ending with the wildfires in Australia, then the COVID-19 pandemic, and now civil unrest, this year is shaping up pretty rough.
It is unlikely things will get any better.
Little leadership is being shown, people are at their most divisive at this time, and no one is trying to hold the leaders accountable. So what hope is there?
Our emotional state is so taxed right now that we are drained. It’s hard to tell what we’re feeling. Tired? Angry? Frustrated? All of the above?
And this is the feeling all around the world. It’s surreal, which pretty much sums up this year… surreal.
I don’t know what else to say right now.
I can say this; I don’t want to live in interesting times anymore. May your times be uninteresting.
