Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.
Alice: I don’t much care where.
The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.
Alice: …So long as I get somewhere.
The Cheshire Cat: Oh, you’re sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
I’ve been searching for a long time to find job satisfaction. I’ve stayed on a particular path because I’ve spent so much time here. The surroundings are familiar, and the way back seems so long that it’s best to keep moving forward.
I think it’s time to reconsider, or at least to reevaluate.
I took a few days off from work this week to focus a bit on my Master’s project and to just ease off a bit. Turned off the phone, and not checked my email except to wrap up a couple of items and ensure they’re followed-up. I’ll leave it to the team to keep things going, as I’m sure they would.
And it’s been good. Might have been better if I was able to go to the beach or something, but current circumstances don’t allow.
Still, the challenge remains, what do I do now? If I don’t know which way to head, do I continue along the way I’m going, or do I just make a turn and hope for the best?
Guess I’ll keep walking.
